Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi is cheating livestock owner and administrators by saying that in Uttar Pradesh there is no Foot and Mouth Disease since several years. The truth is, FMD has devasted not only livestock owners in several districts (Bulandshahar, 2015) but also the government farms as Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (2016) and Military Dairy Farm, Meerut (2016). But in records, everything has been dumped.

शायद बरेली, बुलंदशहर और मेरठ अब उत्तर प्रदेश में नहीं है.!

कैसा खेल है किसानो को धोखा देने का और घटिया वैक्सीन के निर्माताओं को लाभ पहुंचाने का? परन्तु यहाँ तो यहाँ, प्रधानमंत्री ऑफिस में भी सुनने वाला कोई नहीं.


More Outbreaks of FMD Vaccine

Two outbreaks of FMD in dairy cattle herds in Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand State (Oct. 2013) and Bhilai, Chhattisgarh State (Dec 2013) in India. In both herds, all cows were vaccinated regularly (twice yearly in Mukteshwar; 4 times yearly in Bhilai) with a commercially available inactivated FMDV-trivalent vaccine containing serotypes A, O, and Asia1. The Mukteshwar operated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, this farm housed 40 mature dairy cows amongst which 25 new cases of FMD occurred during the 10 day period of the outbreak (incidence = 25/40; 62.5%). The Bhilai farm was a large commercial dairy operation at which 222 cases of FMD were detected amongst 1836 adult dairy cows over the course of 35 days (incidence = 222/1836; 12.1%). Clinical signs exhibited by cattle consisted of variable combinations of vesicular and erosive stomatitis, interdigital vesicles and erosions, feed refusal, lameness, and ptyalism. All clinically observed FMD infections were confirmed diagnostically by viral genome detection (GD) methods including RT-LAMP and multiplex RT-PCR (mRT-PCR). It is not necessary to mention which brand of vaccine was used, ICAR-IVRI uses FMD Vaccine produced by Indian Immunologicals Ltd.
