Superbugs are not mythical: How to deal?

Many veterinarians commented on my post (list of most effective and least effective antibiotics in animals) saying that they don’t use carbapenems, tigecycline, colistin and other last resort drugs in animals and antibiotics in animals feed thus there will be no problem of superbug infection in animals. Dear friends, it is just a myth, see some facts:
1.       Superbugs having NDM and other drug resistance traits are more common in carnivore wild animals than in domestic animals and human patients. Why? Nobody using antibiotics in wild animals. It is simply the contaminated food and water and our environment with superbugs. You may read, how antibiotic resistance has emerged in wildlife in our recent article: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/312159503_Emergence_of_antibiotic_resistance_in_captive_wildlife?ev=prf_pub
2.       Mechanism of the emergence of antimicrobial drug resistance cannot be compartmentalized, all users of antibiotics and other antimicrobials (including sanitizers flooded in markets) have to come together and rationalize the use of good nasty things. To understand more, how resistance to carbapenems is emerging you may see. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/280096607_Emergence_of_Carbapenemase_Producing_Pathogens_in_Animals.
3.       The microbes are not as selfish as the higher life including the most intelligent human. They believe in sharing the beneficial traits and evolved many different ways to gain and share the useful traits for their survival among all of their friends and relatives. How do they do it? https://www.researchgate.net/publication/274382304_An_Overview_of_Mechanisms_and_Emergence_of_Antimicrobials_Drug_Resistance
4.       Who is using herbal antimicrobials in animals? Still, herbal antimicrobial drug resistance is rampant. It is not the use of a drug by you or your doctor. If anyone else in your environment is using these nasty good things indiscriminately; certainly, you are also at risk. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/283859908_Emergence_of_Herbal_Antimicrobial_Drug_Resistance_in_Clinical_Bacterial_Isolates
5.       Dear friends, it is not only use of antimicrobial drugs for therapeutic and feed additives, some of the traitors to humanity have permitted and used antibiotics as preservatives. An example is the use of enrofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone, equivalent to ciprofloxacin) as a preservative in Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccines, how vets can say then they are not using antibiotics indiscriminately? https://www.researchgate.net/publication/303685698_Use_of_Enrofloxacin_as_Preservative_in_FMD_vaccine?ev=prf_pub

So friends, be careful about your apparent and hidden role in the spread of antimicrobial drug resistance (AMR) and the emergence of superbugs. Come together to fight with the AMR and for your future, future of your coming generations. What can you do?
a.       Not buy antibiotics without a prescription.
b.      Ask your doctor while he/she prescribes antibiotics, is it necessary?
c.       Always question when your clinician prescribes more than one antibiotic at a time.
d.      Complete the course of prescribed antibiotic even if you feel better.
e.      Say no to antibiotics for minor problems and diseases/ ailments not caused by bacteria as flu.
f.        Be more hygiene cautious than being fond of sanitizers, sanitizers are not alternates for hygienic practices as washing your hands with soap and water before taking food and afterward, after using toilets and washrooms, meeting/ handling the sick/ patients.
g.       Keep your environment clean to be healthy even if you are anti-Modi.
h.      Keep vigil on how the hospitals/ diagnostic laboratories and clinics in your vicinity are disposing of their waste and call the authorities to stop them from polluting the environment.
i.        Do not think like political leaders thriving for votes for short term gains, think long term for survival of the humanity.

j.        Don’t be selfish, be generous in sharing your thought for cleanliness, better life on earth, to curb emergence of AMR, to fight with enemy think like the enemy. Thus to fight with AMR learn from bacteria how they cooperate with each other.

Colours of Corruption in Vaccine quality assurance and quality control in India

Colours of Corruption in Vaccine quality assurance and quality control in India
Ways of Corruption
Dear Friends, You might be aware that:
Why FMD is not under control even after 14 years of implementation of FMD Control Program?
Why DCGI is silent after so many hue and cries after thousands of outbreak of FMD even after vaccination?
How FMD vaccine is passed in India? Nobody knows about other vaccines.
Why diseases occur even after vaccination in India in outbreak form even in vaccinated population?
Why money power is more powerful than intellect and how it punishes patriots?
Why people run after posts associated with vaccine quality assurance?
Why India has so many traitors sitting at Malaidaar Chairs?
Today I want to show you a bit of the Colour of Corruption in Vaccine Quality Control in India.
Under an RTI visit, I found several expired (a few years ago) and unexpired bottles of Oil adjuvant vaccines in Coffers of Premier Veterinary research Institute and Custodian of Veterinary Vaccine Quality in India (though they claimed that they discard vaccine samples after three months of expiry).
My observations are depicted in the photographs attached.
1.      Oil adjuvant emulsion Vaccine made in India had a clear phase of solid and transparent liquid.
2.      FMD Vaccine (an oil adjuvant emulsion vaccine) used under FMD CP had three or more mores phases in the same vial.
3.      The imported oil adjuvant vaccine had intact emulsion with no phase separation even after several years of expiry (I am nor supporting here import but want to insist why India can not prepare good quality vaccine).

Dear Friends supporters of sub-standard FMD vaccine say that BR Singh maliciously tested for emulsion stability and it is not mentioned in Indian Pharmacopeia’s (IP) Monograph for FMD Vaccine, thus was not required.
My question is:
Who drafted IP’s FMD vaccine Monograph? Were those not who are supporting the producers of substandard FMD vaccines?
Have they not read Volume II of IP defining the quality of injectable emulsions?
IP Vol. 2. Read FOR  Injections:
Injections that are emulsions should not show any evidence of separation and show a uniform appearance after shaking.
Again at the next page, it reads: Infusions that are emulsions do not show any evidence of phase separation.
Is FMD vaccine is not an injectable vaccine, i.e, injection?
If FMD vaccine is to be injected why they say that emulsion stability is not needed for FMD vaccine?
Do they not know why FMD vaccine is made into an emulsion?
Dear, they are crafty and intelligent traitors of India, they are bluffing since long and keep on bluffing if you will keep on slumbering.
Dear all, get up for your rights for quality, get up for the quality vaccine, get up for the veterinary profession, get for the poor farmers of India, get up to root out the corruption, get up to dislodge the traitors of the country.
You can wake up; you have to wake up for this country.
I assure you that I will fight for good quality vaccine till the traitors are punished and till I breathe last. And with your all support, I am sure traitors have to go before my last breathe.
We will win, we will be successful in our mission.

Height of the corruption
1.     The retesting of the disputed FMD vaccine batches found substandard in my report on 5th November 2014 the committee was constituted (under the chairmanship of Dr. Gaya Prasad, then ADG AH) to retest the same batches and samples. The committee ordered retesting of FMD vaccine samples taken from the disputed firms directly by the people not knowing the sampling and not authorized to collect the samples, instead of retesting of the legally collected samples and available both at CCSNIAH, Baghpat and Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bengaluru campus, or testing of the samples collected legally from other places or even from the FMD vaccine producing companies.
2.     Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, a laboratory and place not authorized to test FMD vaccine by DCGI, was selected (F.No. PA.ADG/(AH)/2014 dated 12-11-14) as the venue of the FMD vaccine testing with apparent malefic intentions.
3.     The illegally collected FMD vaccine samples were tested at Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar between 23-11-2014 to 06-02-2015 but Indian Veterinary Research Institute submitted report thrice on 29-12-2014; 06-01-2015 and 07-02-2015 that is two reports were submitted before completion of the testing (faked).
4.     Dr. Gaya Prasad (ADG, AH) submitted the final report on the basis of testing on 12th January 2015, that is 25 days ahead of the completion of the FMD vaccine testing.
5.     The report was submitted to High Court, Lucknow, bench saying that it was accepted by the Council (though it is not), from High Court the same report was made available to IIL, Hyderabad but has not been given to me either on my requests or on my RTIs. On the basis of which IIL has filed a case against me, CCSNIAH, Baghpat, and Secretary, Agriculture, New Delhi (OS44/2016 at Civil Court Hyderabad).

Is Tea Tree Oil an effective antimicrobial? How much Reality & how much Myth?

Tea Tree oil (TTO) is available in many brands by several famous companies with the promise that it cures most of the skin ailments like Acne and Psoriasis because of its antibacterial and antifungal activity. Australia is the biggest producer of TTO. It is claimed to be active against MRSA a deadly pathogen. Besides, it has been incorporated in products as antimicrobial laundry freshener, antidandruff shampoos, acne face wash, natural deodorant and household cleaners.
Our study on 550 strains of bacteria causing topical infections, Candida albicans for comparing TTO with 8 topical antibiotics (polymyxin B sulfate, gentamicin, nitrofurantoin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, ciprofloxacin, and novobiocin) revealed that gentamicin was the most effective antibiotic followed by chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, nitrofurantoin and polymyxin B inhibiting 87.1%, 84.8%, 76.8%, 75% and 72.8% strains, respectively. Tea tree oil (at 1 μL/ mL) could inhibit the growth of 20.5% strains. Only 10% of multiple drug resistant (MDR) were sensitive to TTO. Though TTO is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial active on 26 out of 44 genera of bacteria is a less promising antimicrobial than antibiotics on MDR strains. The TTO is to be said very effective against staphylococci but this study revealed that in vitro only 12% staphylococci were sensitive to TTO. It is claimed that 5% TTO formulations are highly effective, no doubt in vitro 5% TTO can kill many of the bacteria but when applied to skin and bacteria causing infection are hiding a little deeper in the skin and at that site how much concentration of TTO reaches and in that concentration, how toxic is TTO to host cells?
