Will it be possible to reduce (no need to imagine elimination) corruption in India? For how long we will live under hallucination?

Certainly Yes, if adopt the way we used to control several other diseases in India, briefly:
1. Stop the reporting of the disease.
2. Punish those who report the disease.
3. Award those who invent ways to hide the disease.
4. Create hype about the modest ways adopted to control the disease.
5. Create some bigger problem to divert the attention from the disease.

However, the simplest reply is “No”.
In my fight against corruption of more than a decade, I have seen the leaders, the preachers, the teachers and much more. I can conclude that the slogan “Neither I will do corruption nor will allow anyone else to do” (ना खाऊंगा ना खाने दूंगा) is a big lie. Yes, if determined you can stop yourself to be corrupt but you cannot deter others even if you are a dictator. We are born and brought up in a society where you cannot get even birth and death certificate without bribe then what else you can? This is the only nation where people have an organization of dead (officially declared) people fighting to prove that they are still living.
Once, when I was transferred to Nagaland in the response of submitting proofs of corruption by the Director, people advised me to meet a big politician (nowadays he holds a post of Minister in our honest Prime Minister’s team), I went to him and explained the reason for disturbing him. His reply was “In which book it is written that you should speak the truth”. I silently came back and joined my duties at the place where I would not have been posted because there was no post of Microbiologist. I worked there and remembered the God (to whom my inner-self says, either God really exist or not) to cure me of the curse of speaking and writing the truth.
I submitted time and again the fool proof documents against several of my officers to prove that they were corrupt but every time corrupts got promotion and reached the top posts within no time and my movement is in reverse gear since decades. Many of them are VCs nowadays and many will become. In the era when the slogan came “ना खाऊंगा ना खाने दूंगा”, I submitted the report how substandard foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccines are passed. It is not a secret, what happened, stories cropped up in many newspapers, magazines, and other media. But almost everyone who helped in proving me wrong has been awarded promotion and I silently came back from the post of the Director. How wrong was I? Yes, I was wrong in perceiving that my report can improve the quality of vaccine. Since then, the same vaccine (which was proved to be substandard in my testing) has devastated even the farms of those who passed the vaccine, who declared that my testing was wrong. The vaccine failed time and again in India and abroad, in farmers dairy herds and in Government farms, still, those who favored the substandard vaccine are steering the programme to double the Indian Farmers’ income. Does under these circumstances, the dream of doubling farmers’ income a false slogan? The most of the legendary planners are either VCs or Directors of Agriculture and Animal Sciences Universities and Institutes, holding hundreds and thousands of acres of fertile land and are equipped with all good knowledge, going to double the income of farmers. Then why most of the government farms, Universities and Institutes looks for the grants from Government, why their farm balance sheets show a loss? Who will ask them to double their farm income in coming two years? Certainly, nobody is going to ask because it is just a slogan to harvest the people of India.
We see that in India we are having several disease control programmes like foot and mouth disease control program (FMD-CP), Brucellosis Control Program and PPR control program designed by the similar legendary teams of talented administrators. Is anyone farms, on the government and governed by one or the other member of the legendary teams, there, where these diseases are not there, except where the diseases have been tactfully hidden from the eyes?
I am not optimist under present environment, and almost sure that after a few years, people may realize that what a good dream it was. How is the corruption winning the race? Why do people not believe in India that truth can win? Why do people of India believe that muscle power and money power are the two sides of the coin branded as “the God”.
It may be interesting to find a place in India where you can live devoid corruption. You can see lakhs of cases pending since years without any date from the courts (one real good example is PIL against substandard vaccine filed in the year 2014 in Lucknow Bench of High Court), having court dates almost twice in a month but without any hearing, and many more, cases are decided by your allegiance with sects, groups, ethnicity, political ideology, party, money, and many more both at investigation level and decision level.
Sometimes, I think why people get motivated to sacrifice their life by becoming Naxalites, terrorists, and activists in the beautiful and fertile land of Ram & Krishna where Ganges (who sacrificed all her progeny for the good cause to relieve the people from penance. Though I may be wrong, the cause seems to be corruption in the system only.
I feel that to deceit is in genes, sometimes I blame the environment, sometimes the education and sometimes the hunger for the behavior of we Indians. You may get a flood of advisors against truth in India, advising you to abstain from this bad habit or the disease quoting “अकेला चना भाड़ नहीं फोड़ सकता”. Why do people say me alone? I also feel alone at home, in a market, in office and everywhere there is a crowd. But why I feel strong when sitting alone? Is it some psychological disorder? Is wailing for the truth in India a disease?
By these paragraphs, you might be feeling, like reading a story of failures. However, I see success in this, how many in India can cry for truth, how many are crying for the pain of fellow citizens, how many are living with a cause, how many are fighting for the justice, not for self but to else.
What is the way out?
The first and solid response is no way out; learn to live in the well.
Second thought, yes we can win this fight. But, how?
If we could have a selfless leader not even loyal to the God, followers, supporters, mentors and Gurus but to truth, if someone comes with the ideology of sacrifice even without wish to be counted as martyr, one who can pick the team purely on the basis of merit, not on the basis of assumptions, presumptions, and allegiance etc., but still so many if and buts.
Is it possible or let us leave the idea of living without corruption and keep on practicing “living with corruption” like we have learned to live with mosquitoes? If you trace the history of slogans in India, one I remember was "Hum do hammare do (we are two and have two)", who flaunted it? Why Indian population increased over the years with rocket speed? another was “Neither Mosquito nor Malaria will remain in India”, then came “Mosquito will remain but no Malaria”, then “we can live with Mosquitoes and Malaria” and now “we have to live with Mosquitoes along with Malaria, Filariasis, Dengue, Chikungunya, Yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis and many more”. I fear, sometimes after the dream of doubling the income of farmers in next five years, we may see the day when great-great leaders of India may say “Farmers of India were poor, are poor and will remain poor because they deserve to be poor”. Though all farmers in India are not poor, some of the real farmers earn crores of rupees per acre of land every year even without sowing any seed (a few months back a leader lady shown her agriculture income in hundreds of crores from 10-acre land). Those who are laborers (in farms) how they can be considered farmers, do you can consider an employee in a company the owner of the company? If no, then how you can say that farmers are poor, the laborers are poor, they have to be, otherwise who will be a laborer. If no laborer, how the country will progress, if the country will not progress how we can?

Long live India, Bharat Maata ki Jay, Jay Hind, Jai Corruption. ना जीऊंगा ना जीने दूंगा.
